I read The Real Heaven and really enjoyed it! I too was one of those folks who really didn't look forward to Heaven. I mean, I definitely knew that I didn't want to end up in Hell, and some days I would tell myself that if I were in Heaven at least I would be free from the physical pain of this life. The picture of Heaven that had always been painted for me by Sunday school teachers had me feeling like I was going to be receiving the equivalent of a lobotomy when I got to Heaven. That picture didn't appeal to me, and at the same time, it didn't really seem right either. Like you, most of the time I just tried not to think about it.

After reading The Real Heaven, I am for the first time excited about the possibilities of the afterlife. I was unfamiliar with most of the perspectives that were shared in the book; however, after reading through the biblical references for myself, these new perspectives make so much sense to me. Now, Heaven seems like a place that I would want to be. Moreover, this new perspective has given me new motivation to strive for excellence in this life.
